Special Lady Friend is a band, not a data company. This page explains what we collect when you visit Special Lady Friend's website or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

Messages you send us. If you use the contact form we collect the first name, last name, email address and message you type in.

Newsletter signups. If you subscribe we collect the email address you enter and the page you signed up from.

Basic visit information. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. That service records information such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site.

We do not ask for or knowingly store passwords, payment details, government identification, or health information through this site.

Why we use it

  • To reply to booking, press and song-request messages.
  • To send the occasional note about new shows, songs and dates, if you asked for it.
  • To understand which pages and locations people are interested in, so we know where to play and what to write about.
  • To keep the site working and protect it from abuse.

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not run advertising campaigns on this site.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets cookies through Google Analytics 4 (the _ga family of cookies) so that repeat visits can be recognised. Those cookies are used for measurement only: we do not use them to build advertising profiles or to follow you around other websites.

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and browser extensions are available that opt you out of Google Analytics entirely. The site works without them.

Note that the analytics tag runs as soon as the page loads, without asking you first.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the site, and they process data on our behalf:

  • Base44, which hosts the site, stores the messages and subscriber addresses, and delivers our email notifications.
  • Google, for analytics.

Contact form messages are also delivered to the band members' own email inboxes. We may share information where the law requires it, or to protect the band's legal rights.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are kept while we are handling the inquiry and for a reasonable follow-up period afterwards. Newsletter addresses are kept until you ask to be removed. Analytics data expires on Google's standard retention schedule.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by emailing us and asking to be taken off the list.

If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Send any request to special.lady.friend.band@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 45 days.

Children

This site is meant for people booking and enjoying live music. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If a child has sent us information and you would like it removed, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
