Petaluma has kept a real music culture alive: historic downtown rooms, a riverfront that hosts everything from art walks to private parties, and audiences who grew up hearing live bands. Special Lady Friend plays the town as a six-piece, with soul, blues, funk and rock arranged for a room where people came out to listen.
Old downtown buildings have their own sound: brick, wood, high ceilings, and a natural reverb that flatters a real vocal performance and punishes a loud stage. We set up accordingly, with controlled volume and two singers who can carry a room without pushing. The result sits close to the audience instead of over it.
Petaluma sits at the hinge between Marin and Sonoma, so it draws guests from both directions and a lot of weddings use the town as a base. We handle rehearsal dinners, welcome parties and full receptions, and we are comfortable working alongside a planner, a caterer and a sound curfew.
Every quote is built from the actual date: travel, setup time, number of sets and how late the night runs.
