Not every good night is a wedding. Special Lady Friend plays birthdays, anniversaries, retirement parties, company gatherings, fundraisers and the kind of backyard evening that gets talked about for years. Six players, our own gear, a setlist that meets a room where it is, and no need for a stage.
A fiftieth birthday, a company party and a neighborhood fundraiser are three different rooms, and the band adjusts to each. We start with soul and blues at a level that lets people talk, then build toward funk and rock as the night loosens up. If the party has a moment that needs a song, a toast, a surprise, a first dance, we will learn it.
A covered patio, a garage cleared out for the night, a barn with an extension cord, all of it works. The full band fits in about twelve feet of width and runs on standard power. For a smaller gathering we trim to a compact acoustic-leaning setup with mandolin and guitar carrying more of the load.
Company parties and fundraisers usually need a band that is easy to work with: confirmed load-in, clear start and stop times, appropriate dress, and a short break at a useful moment. We handle all of that without a coordinator chasing us, and we are glad to work with a nonprofit budget when the cause is local.
Send the date, the location, the guest count and how long you want music. We will confirm availability and quote the night from those details, including travel anywhere in Sonoma or Marin. Weekends in spring and fall fill early, so a few months of lead time makes a real difference.
