House concerts, vineyard lawns, a good long table.
Kenwood events run from house concerts for forty people to vineyard dinners with a hundred. Special Lady Friend plays both, with a six-piece band that adjusts its footprint and its volume to the property and keeps the music worth listening to either way.
For a smaller Kenwood gathering we play as a compact unit: two voices, guitar, mandolin, bass, and brushed drums. The music sits close to the audience, songs get introduced, requests are fair game, and nobody needs a stage or a lighting rig. It is the least formal version of the band and often the most memorable.
For a larger property we bring the full six-piece setup with our own vocal system and play a dinner set and a dance set. Sound is aimed at the tables, not into the hills, because in Kenwood the neighbors are closer than the map suggests and a happy venue is one that stays on good terms with them.
Send the date, how many guests and whether the plan is seated or standing. We will confirm availability, ask about power and access, and quote the night based on hours and travel. Harvest season weekends are the first to go, so plan several months ahead if the date matters.
