Tiburon and Belvedere gatherings are usually intimate by design: a deck over the bay, a club room, a private dinner that turns into a party after dessert. Special Lady Friend plays those nights as a six-piece band that knows how to build without overrunning the room.
The best version of a Tiburon party does not announce the band at the start. We play the first set under the conversation, with soul and blues at a listenable level, then take it up a notch as the plates clear. By the time the party moves inside or out onto the deck, the band has already won the room without asking for attention.
We keep the stage footprint tight: five players plus a vocalist, compact amplification, and a drummer who understands that a small room is a different instrument than a big one. The result is a band that sounds present in a club room of forty people and does not force anyone to shout through dinner.
